"God did not come to take away our suffering, nor to explain it; Jesus came to fill it with his presence." (Paul Claudel)
Jesus invited us to go the good way, to come to Him, all who labor and are heavinly laden; giving us the assurance that we'll find rest in Him, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matt. 11:28-30).
Being a mother of three kids, I really felt pain when I left our country to work here. I don't want to leave them but I have to because of one purpose; to give them a better future. I was so hard for me to leave them and come to Taiwan to work because during that time one of my daughters was sick. After a series of tests, she was suspected by the doctors of having a brain tumor. those were the lowest days of my life when I learned of that bomb-like threat to her her life. Who among you mothers will not feel what I felt on that moment when the doctors told me of that dreaded disease? I felt like going insane and I really could not take it just thinking that I'll be losing her. I cried so much asking for God's mercy and He answered my prayers at that very moment. for the time my daughter has undergone the CT scanning of her head, the result was negative. The same series of tests given to her before were all repeated and we still asked for a second opinion at another hospital. Yet, the neurologists from both hospitals cleared here of any possible hint of that disease. How could I explain where all those severe pains, frequent vomiting, dizziness and all the discomforts she suffered before, and the blood clot which apppeared in her left eye come from? Now, she's back to a normal life enjoyed by any nine-year old child like her, without any single medicine prescribed by the doctors, just as if nothing seriously happened.
God has worked miracles on my daughter and I stand witness of His great power. His undying love and mercy for all His people. All of us experienced trials in different ways. You don't neeed to experience the way I did when God asked me if I'll follow Him and without a second thought, I answered Him. "Yes, my Lord."
Don't expect to have tomorrow, what is offered to you today. He's asking you now, "Will you follow me?"
Don't reject Him. For no one knows when the grace period will end, when we will be judged for our sins. god is calling us to represent Him in a workplace or a neighborhood, where people have no timefor Him. We must know God's truth andreflect that truth in our lives. A society like ours needs "Christians to live like rocks anchored in a strong foundation.
Temptation is everywhere. Some of us are unfaithful to our husbands or wives. This trend is very rampant here in Taiwan. We know it's not in accordance with the will of God, being one of His commandments, that we shall not commit adultery, yet, it's a trend here! sin is so sweet at the beginning but it becomes so bitter at the end.
We love God though we don't see Him. Can't we do that to our spouses? Probably the main source of this temptation is money, because we earn quite bigger here compared to that at home. But isn't it because of money that we work for other people and take all the risks that come our way? It's a very logical rewason! Isn't it because of our children and our loved ones that we endure sufferings here?
We must have that great fear in God for us to be saved from every temptation that come our way. We'll be steady in the storm if we're anchored to Christ, The Rock! He never got tired of saving us so let's ask for His guidance and let His words be the light to our path.
