Following the example of the Master, the Church is engaged in fostering the dignity and advancement of man in all her evangelization activities.

From the economic standpoint: The Church in Can Tho often urges the faithful to work diligently and to reduce useless expenditure. She supports agricultural credit institutes, whose directors are mostly Catholics. She helps in the drilling of wells for drinking water in hundreds of locations in the countryside. Recently, she has provided prompt and effective aid to the victims of typhoon Linda, regardless of whether they were Catholic.

From the cultural standpoint: the Church encourages families to be seriously concerned about their children's education. In the parishes, funds have been created to aid poor families to pay their children's educational expenses and to obtain means of transport (boats, for example) so they can go to school.

From the communications standpoint: in the Mekong Delta, where communications are usually by river and sometimes long and difficult, the Church co-operates with the authorities and issues appeals to everyone for solidarity, in order to build bridges and to repair country lanes, thus providing a great service to the population and giving a good Christian witness.

All these results, although small, have been achieved primarily through the missionary awareness of the faithful, communion with one another and with other religions, solidarity with everyone and also through the contributions of charitable organizations.
